First it was just one song. Then another. Then someone was up on the bench, somebody was beating the rhythm far too hard, and suddenly the whole table acted as if they had always known the chorus.

The Ziegenjodler belongs to exactly that moment: when a mood turns into a condition, tradition into an imposition and a harmless evening into a small, very loud mistake with accordion accompaniment.

Freistaat-Fieber is loud, blunt and suspiciously sure of itself. It smells of beer bench, brass, chicken grease and that particular moment when someone says “des passt scho” even though absolutely nothing fits anymore.

A blaring blue-and-white for diamonds, frenzy and leftover dignity. For nights when tradition is not explained, but simply sits at the table legs apart, claps along and orders another round.
