How to measure

Chest width
Lay the sweatshirt flat and measure straight across from left to right, just below the armholes. Half width – multiply by two for the full circumference.

Body length (HPS)
From the highest point of the shoulder seam next to the collar straight down to the bottom edge of the hem rib.

Shoulder width
Straight across the back from one shoulder seam to the other.

Sleeve length
From the shoulder seam along the top of the sleeve to the end of the cuff.

Fit
Boxy cut with dropped shoulders. The shoulder seam sits deliberately on the upper arm – that is why the shoulder width is far wider than on a regular sweatshirt and the sleeve length reads correspondingly shorter. Both belong to the cut; together they give the full arm length. Rib at hem and cuffs.

All measurements in cm, taken from the garment lying flat. Tolerance ±1 cm.

You did not go to her when everything was going to plan.

Those who came to Santa Muerte were the ones whose prayers had gone unanswered elsewhere. They brought flowers, liquor, cigarettes or nothing but a candle, and asked for protection, a second chance or simply one more night. She never asked why they had come so late.

470 g/m² sounds like a number until you pick the thing up.

Ordinary sweat fabric sits somewhere between 280 and 350 g/m²; this one is well above that. Lifting it for the first time brings on that peculiar feeling of a sweater suddenly weighing more than your head had budgeted for a sweater.

On the body that weight does not disappear. The fabric sits full across the shoulders and falls quietly instead of hanging off you somewhere. That is why the boxy cut with its dropped shoulders works the way it should. In thinner cloth the same cut would simply be large; here it has mass.

You get used to it remarkably quickly.
The trouble only starts when you put on something light afterwards.
