At some point the last appointment is behind you, the streets empty out and the demands change. That is when you find out whether a pair of trousers only looks good or actually holds up.

The Dead Drop is deliberately a chino first: clean cut, no cargo pockets, no obvious tactical build. The function sits where you need it – not where everyone is meant to see it.

The best trousers for bad places rarely look the part.

So the Dead Drop Chino keeps its function largely to itself. The cut stays clean while wide belt loops leave room for broader belts and padded underbelts, for the days a battle belt goes over the top. On both front pockets, Leather Clip Guards protect the fabric where knives, tools or other clip gear would otherwise leave their mark soon enough.

One of the front pockets also carries the Wallet Slip Pocket from the Cutthroat Shorts. Wallet in, and it stays where it belongs. Two back pockets, a YKK zip fly and custom-embossed COVEN buttons handle the rest without unnecessary noise.

Waistband and pockets are made from COVEN CAMO – our own camouflage pattern in desert tones and grey. From the outside almost none of it shows. Only in wear, when the trousers are opened and used, does the pattern surface where their function sits anyway.

The flexible waistband gives a little and adjusts as it goes. The regular fit stays relaxed enough to move in and tapers towards the ankle.

For the office, for concrete, and for the hours after.

And when the belt eventually turns into a battle belt, the trousers do not have to be changed for it.
