Shutters come down, shop windows turn into dark mirrors and traffic lights keep changing for streets nobody has waited on in hours. The later it gets, the less anyone cares why you are still out.
Black denim belongs exactly here.
The Wormskin Jeans is our idea of what a black jean should look like once it has been through COVEN. Slim cut, low on the hip, close to the body through hip and thigh, with the leg running straight from there. Not a skinny fit, but nothing that tries to look loose or retro either.
A clean, tighter cut that sits exactly the way we wanted it to.
In this version the Wormskin comes in Washed Black. The black reads more broken, a little rawer and already worn, without losing any of its clarity.
The front stays classic: button fly with embossed COVEN buttons. Not sold to you as a technical marvel, but because a button fly still works damn well and feels the way denim is supposed to feel.
What reads as a classic black jean from the outside is built differently where it counts.
Wider belt loops take belts and loop underbelts up to 5 cm for anyone running a battle belt over the top. On both front pockets, Leather Clip Guards protect the fabric where knives, tools and other clip gear would otherwise wear it through.
One of the front pockets also holds the Wallet Slip Pocket you already know from the Cutthroat Shorts and the Dead Drop. Wallet goes in, wallet stays where it belongs. One of those small things you never think about beforehand, until you get used to it and every pair of pants without one starts to irritate you.
The pocket interiors are cut in Tiger Stripe Desert and set a markedly different accent inside than the black version.
Both back pockets carry COVEN embroidery.
At the waistband sits a COVEN Leather Patch with an embossed symbol.
And the Wormskin works pretty damn well under the Wormshell. Probably because both are built on the same principle: restrained enough on the outside to be worn every day, with the real details only surfacing when someone looks closer.
Somewhere after midnight everything looks a little better in black anyway.
