Note on the waistband: the value is the “width” of the waistband with the boardshorts lying flat – for comparison, measure the width of the waistband of your own pants.
Reference: 1.78 m tall with a regular jeans size 32/32 wears size L. The flexible waistband also leaves room for e.g. a 34 or 36.
