How to measure
Chest
Lay the jacket flat and closed, then measure straight across from left to right directly below the armholes.
Back length
Measure down the back from the neck seam below the collar to the bottom edge of the hem band. This figure decides where the jacket ends – on the hip or above it.
Sleeve length
From the center of the neck over the shoulder to the end of the cuff – not from the shoulder seam. That is why the numbers look higher than the plain sleeve measurements you may be used to.
Hem band
The ribbed band at the bottom, measured flat and unstretched. It gives considerably – the figure is the resting state, not the limit.
Upper arm
Measure across the sleeve directly below the armhole.
Fit
A transitional jacket. The cut leaves room for a hoodie or a sweatshirt underneath without pulling. Ribbed hem and cuffs.
Chest, hem band and upper arm are half widths taken from the garment lying flat – multiply by two for the full circumference. Tolerance ±1 cm.
The chest figures are for guidance and already allow for one layer underneath. If in doubt, measure a jacket that fits you and compare the half chest width.
Reference: 1.78 m tall at 80 kg wears size M. A sweatshirt underneath is no problem, the jacket sits comfortably.
